Ooh look, it's Jeff Lawson

Jeff is a singer, songwriter, busker and raconteur currently based in Linthwaite, nestling in the Colne Valley near Huddersfield, West Yorkshire but originally from somewhere called Peterlee, which is in County Durham, like. All of these places are in the UK.

His music has been variously described as sounding like John Martyn, Richard Thompson, Tracey Chapman (worryingly), Bill Withers and other people. Decide for yourself - Jeff thinks he sounds like Jeff Lawson.

Jeff started writing songs in the '80s following a bizarre walking accident one new year's eve. He has performed all over Britain, as well as in Germany, Holland and Portugal. He also has been known to do songwriting workshops when he can't get out of it. Jeff often gets out of it.

Jeff's first proper album, No Change, which was produced by Phil Matthews at AX Studios in 2006, is available from no good record shops. But you can listen to tracks on this very site (click on Music), and when the desire to own the CD becomes irresistable, you can order it using PayPal, by clicking above!

He is also a very lovely person and is useless at most other things.

Jeff has had a rich and varied career, starting at the crisp factory, graduating to British Steel in Hartlepool and the Civil bloody Service. He has dossed about at several universities, fannied around pretending to be a nurse and lectured a bit. He has only ever lived in the North. And Scotland.
